DESCRIPTION:Magnetic fields are a consequence of the dynamic plasmas formi
ng almost all astrophysical systems\, especially stars\, where they repres
ent one of the basic ingredients within recipes describing the structure a
t all evolutionary stages. In the last twenty years\, spectropolarimetric
observations obtained with new instruments attached to mid- and large-size
d telescopes have led to the discovery of magnetic fields in stars in prac
tically all regions of the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram\, providing previou
sly unavailable constraints on the effects of the magnetic field on stella
 r atmospheres\, on star-planet interaction\, on rotation\, and mass loss t
hrough stellar winds. Modelling efforts and theoretical understanding are
at risk of falling behind the enormous pace of observational progress. Thi
s meeting will help to establish priorities and recommend future observati
onal\, theoretical\, and engineering efforts\, and to prepare the astronom
ical community to understand the enormous amount of data that will continu
e to flow from the astronomical facilities.\n\nDiscussions will be organis
ed to maximise the interaction between different communities and will be f
 ocussed on these themes:\n\n \n\nWeek 1 (09/10 to 13/10): Observations\,
modelling and origin of stellar magnetic fields. Field characteristics and
  generation.\n\nWeek 2 (16/10 to 20/10): Observations\, modelling and orig
in of stellar magnetic fields. Interplay with star formation and stellar e
 volution.\n\nWeek 3 (23/10 to 27/10): Observations\, modelling and origin
of stellar magnetic fields. Late stages of stellar evolution.\n\nWeek 4 (3
0/10 to 03/11): Observations\, modelling and origin of stellar magnetic fi
elds. Interaction with circumstellar environment (including planetary syst
 ems) and ISM.\n\nhttps://indico.ph.tum.de/event/7409/
