Description
At high energies QCD enters a novel regime characterized by
high partonic densities, coherence phenomena and non-linear saturation
effects. The saturation of hadronic wave functions, closely related
tounitarity, stems from the increasing importance of gluon-gluon
recombination effects with increasing energy (decreasing Bjorken-x). I
will first review the recent theoretical progress attained in the
determination of the BK-JIMWLK non-linear QCD evolution equations.
Then I will focus in the phenomenological applications of the
saturation based ideas in Deep Inelastic Scattering experiments
(HERA), ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions (RHIC, LHC) and in
cosmic ray physics. Prospects for future experiments will also be
discussed.
