Description

In order to extend the available experimental database of alpha-induced reactions relevant for the p-process towards the heavier mass region, the cross section of the 151Eu(alpha,gamma)155Tb and 151Eu(alpha,n)154Tb reactions has been measured using the activation technique. The cross sections have been detemined in the center-of-mass energy range of 11.2 – 17 MeV and 12.3 – 17 MeV for the (alpha,n) and (alpha,gamma) channels, respectively. Some details of the measurement will be presented in the talk with emphasis on the special experimental requirements of an activation experiment. Preliminary results and the comparison with statistical model calculations will also be shown.
