A Data Acquisition (DAQ) System for a particle physics experiment like COMPASS is a very complex and wide distributed system. For COMPASS, a new ATCA (Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture) based DAQ-System is under investigation. In order to understand the pros and cons of different build-ups of such a system, a DAQ-Simulation is needed.
In the first part of the talk an overview of the operating mode and the current status of the new DAQ-Simulation framework (DAQS) is given. The second part deals with the results of first simulation runs, which represent the current COMPASS-DAQ status.
