Description
In the first part about PET systems, the experience and results of our
built MADPET3 prototype based on G-APDs/SiPMs and SADC readout will
be presented as well as resulting from that the proposal for a new
MADPET4 system as an insert for an 7T MRI. The idea, geometry and
concept as well as first promising simulation results lead to the
demands for the used detector. Consequently the second part of the
presentation is about the very promising SiPMs manufactured by KETEK
for which basic studies and results will be shown. The KETEK SiPMs
will be used for MADPET4. To conclude the newest developments from the
SiPM front, the experience so far with the Philips digital SiPMs and
our latest PET demonstrator based on this technology will be shown.
Both detector types of course are not limited for the use with PET,
but may be also interesting for other applications at E18.
