Description
Kurzvortrag im Rahmen einer Berufung Neutron beta decay is the simplest semi-leptonic weak decay and described accurately by the standard model using two free parameters only. It offers more than a dozen experimental observables. Thus, precision measurements of angular correlation coefficients are a sensitive tool to probe the structure of the weak interaction and to search for physics beyond the standard model. In my talk I will present the currently most precise determination of the parity violating beta asymmetry with the instrument PERKEO III. Its successor instrument PERC (Proton Electron Radiation Channel) is currently under construction at the FRM-II. PERC will improve the precision on measurements of spectra and several correlation coefficients by an order of magnitude.
