Kurzvortrag im Rahmen einer Berufung
Precision experiments in neutron beta decay serve to determine
parameters of the standard model of particle physics. They deliver
important input for cosmology or neutrino oscillation experiments. On
the other hand, they are preformed to search for physics beyond the
standard model where they provide competitive limits on new
interactions. In order to improve accuracy, progress is needed in
different areas. We have advanced neutron polarimetry to the 10^-4
accuracy level and are working towards improved measurements of proton
correlations in neutron decay. These experiments are particularly
challenging because of the low energy of the decay protons. I will
discuss motivation, results and next steps in our quest for precision.
