Description
Kurzvortrag im Rahmen einer Berufung The neutrino sector may provide keys to understanding the mystery behind the observed matter/anti-matter asymmetry in the universe. An important step towards this is determining whether or not the neutrino and anti-neutrino are the same particle, a so-called ‘Majorana’ particle, which is the goal of neutrinoless double-beta decay experiments, including the liquid-xenon-based EXO-200 experiment currently running in New Mexico, USA. The status of EXO-200 and the outlook for the next-generation nEXO experiment will be discussed in context of understanding the composition of the universe.
