Description

Various observations point towards new physics beyond our standard theories for particles and their interactions. Examples are the unknown nature of dark matter and dark energy which dominate the energy content of our Universe. These puzzles, among others, motivate the search for new ingredients to our descriptions of elementary particles in the framework of field theory. Many of the unexplained phenomena are intimately related to the gravitational force whose standard description is given by General Relativity. This well-established setup still lacks a quantum completion, delivering another motivation for new physics.
The research objective of my group is the construction of new, mathematically consistent field theories for particle and gravitational physics. We develop new methods in order to discover novel interactions and better understand their interesting structures. This task becomes more complicated with increasing spin of the fields and is particularly challenging when gravitational spin-2 degrees of freedom are involved.
In this talk, I will give an overview of our research goals and the most promising applications of our results so far.
