Description

Hot quark matter produced in relativistic heavy ion collisions provides a unique platform to investigate the spin physics under extreme conditions. Recently, it has witnessed great experimental progresses on observing the most vortical matter in the universe, and measuring the hyperon spin spectrum known as spin Hall effects in QCD matter. In this talk, I will breifly discuss how the spin polarization of fermions arises in a (near) equilibrium hot plasma from different sources from the point of view of quantum kinetic theory which incorporate spin degrees of freedom in kinetic theories  based on non-equilibrium field theory techniques.
