Description

Since the discovery by the European Muon Collaboration that the quark spins contribute little to the nucleon spin, world-wide efforts were undertaken to shed light on how the nucleon spin of 1/2 h-bar comes about. Dedicated experiments were performed at CERN, SLAC, DESY and RHIC to understand the various contributions to the nucleon spin. The talk will review the main questions, experimental techniques and results in the field.
