Description
The discovery of the Higgs boson by the LHC Experiments marks a major breakthrough in particle physics, with far-reaching consequences for our understanding of the fundamental building blocks of the Universe. The detailed understanding of the properties of this new particle will give us insight into the origin of the mass of elementary particles, and might provide hints for New Physics beyond the Standard Model of particle physics. Since the LHC alone will not be able to provide the required precision measurements there are now very concrete studies on how to fully explore the Higgs sector with new experiments at the energy frontier of particle physics. Frank will discuss what we hope to learn from such measurements, and how we plan to perform them at a new linear electron-positron collider. The Universe Colloquium is followed by a social gathering with wine and cheese.
