Understanding the acceleration of the universe in a technical natural manner is a yet unresolved theoretical challenge. Since the acceleration is produced by sources of cosmological wavelength, a tempting approach is to consistently modify gravity at the largest observable distances. A consistent representative for a natural infrared modification is gravity induced on a 4-dimensional surface embedded in a higher-dimensional space-time of infinite extend. The five dimensional version of this theory is the DGP model. This talk will focus on the case of six and more dimensions. Both will be discussed, the consistency and phenomenological implications of this theory.
