Description
This talk will be a review on black hole astrophysics to non-experts including black holes as solutions of the Einstein equation in General Relativity, curvature singularities, black hole formation and accretion as well as astronomical detection methods for black holes. We will also discuss the phenomenon of mini black holes in particle accelerators and black-hole-like solutions found in the framework of pseudo-complex General Relativity. The Universe Colloquium is followed by a social gathering with wine and cheese.
