This talk is dedicated to the centenary of the birth of the great neutrino physicists Bruno Pontecorvo. Samoil will discuss a radiochemical method which was proposed by Pontecorvo to detect neutrinos. According to the the myon-electron universality of the weak interaction he was able to prove in an accelerator neutrino experiment that electron neutrino and myon neutrino are different particles. Samoil will discuss Pontecorvo's pioneer idea of neutrino masses, mixing and oscillations in some detail. The Universe Colloquium is followed by a social gathering with wine and cheese.
