G. Zanderighi: High precision QCD at the LHC

I will review the motivations that lead to the construction of the LHC experiment. In particular, I will illustrate how theory predictions enter the game when interpreting collider data. State-of-the-art precision QCD calculations are also presented, emphasizing the role that they play for current and future physics analysis.
