R. Pittau: Precise particle physics at colliders and beyond

I discuss the importance of precision physics at particle colliders and review the strategies, algorithms and tools recently developed to cope with the complexity of the needed theoretical predictions. Some of the new ideas introduced in this context also allow a better understanding of quantum field theory at a more fundamental level.
