Description
Kurzvortrag im Rahmen einer Berufung Very slow neutrons are an excellent tool and study object for elementary (astro-)particle physics. Studying the electric dipole moment and decay of the free neutron helps solving puzzles about the matter-anti-matter asymmetry in the Universe, the primordial creation of elements and the completeness of the three generations of quark families. Ultra-cold neutrons are especially useful since their observation times are orders of magnitude longer than for most other subatomic particles. The talk will introduce the field and give examples of ultra-cold neutron experiments dealing with these question to which the speaker has contributed.
