Description
In this talk, I will advocate neutrino mass sum rules as being a powerful tool to realistically distinguish groups of neutrino flavour models by near-future data, thereby going all the way from theoretical considerations to the information relevant for experimentalists. I will explain how to obtain sum rules from suitable models and how to derive predictions, while avoiding the subtle pitfalls on the way. Then I will illustrate which predictions can be made and how drastically the general parameter space can be reduced in some cases. Finally I will comment on what we realistically could do with data from near future experiments.
