Voids are the large, underdense regions in the cosmic web, and they are potentially powerful cosmological probes due to their intimate connection to the growth of structure, their domination by dark energy, and their relative lack of systematics. In the past few years we have engaged in a concerted campaign to to understand their fundamental nature and their connection to dark matter underdensities, and apply them to many diverse cosmological applications, including gravitational lensing, the ISW effect, and the Alcock-Paczynski effect. Paul will discuss strategies they are developing to forecast the ability of cosmic voids to constrain dark energy equation of state parameters in upcoming space-based galaxy surveys, such as Euclid and WFIRST. The audience is cordially invited to discuss and comment. During this 30-minutes lunch event of the series "Fruits of the Universe", we will serve drinks and fingerfood.
