Electric dipole moments (EDMs) are a sensitive probe for physics beyond the standard model of elementary particles. In the low-energy regime, promising systems in search for the ensuing spatial parity (P) and time-reversal (T) non-conserving interactions are diatomic molecules. In this talk Timo will focus on the theoretical challenges to the search for P- and T-violating effects in two classes of systems, neutral and ionic diatomics. Particular emphasis will be lain on the electron EDM, the scalar-pseudoscalar electron-nucleon interaction, and the nuclear magnetic quadrupole moment. Recent theoretical developments as well as theoretical results used in conjunction with experimental measurements in order to constrain P- and T-violating physics will be presented. The Universe Colloquium is followed by a social gathering with wine and cheese.
