Description
Mu-Chun will discuss the origin of CP violation in settings with a discrete (flavor) symmetry. In particular, she will show that certain discrete symmetries clash with CP in the sense that, in generic settings with such symmetries, one cannot consistently define a proper CP transformation. For such discrete symmetries, CP violation can be purely group theoretical, leading to physical effects such as particle decay asymmetry. The audience is cordially invited to discuss and comment. During this 30-minutes lunch event of the series "Fruits of the Universe", we will serve drinks and fingerfood.
