We describe production of various hadronic final states and hadronic resonances in tau lepton decays studied in the BaBar and Belle experiments. Their implications for determination of fundamental QCD parameters (alpha_s and light quark masses) as well as precise measurements of tau lepton basic properties are discussed. Other applications include tests of CVC based relations, searches for CP violation and others.
