Description
Measurements of the Higgs boson can test the standard model of particle physics. Higgs Effective Theories provide a useful tool to study potential deviations from the standard model theory predictions and to constrain new physics. One example is the Higgs trilinear coupling that can be measured directly via double Higgs production or indirectly via precision measurements in Higgs decay and production. In this talk I will compare the direct and indirect measurements, present results on perturbative corrections for Higgs effective theories and comment on the validity of the effective theory approach.
