Electroweak corrections for LHC physics

As the LHC accummulates more and more data it can both perform measurements with ever greater accuracy and probe as-of-yet inaccessible regions in the TeV-regime for the first time on its ongoing search for new physics. In both regions, higher order electroweak corrections become mandatory in order to achieve a meaningful comparison of experimental data to theoretical predictions which is able to discover discrepancies with the Standard Model. In this seminar I will introduce the framework to compute next-to-leading order electroweak corrections in the Sherpa event generator and highlight important applications to LHC processes of interest.
