Special Universe Talk: Galaxy evolution results from Hubble’s WISP survey

Abstract: Claudia will present recent results from the WFC3 Infrared Spectroscopic Parallel Survey (WISP) a slitless spectroscopic survey on the Hubble Space Telescope. This large program is identifying thousands of galaxies across a wide range of redshifts, spanning more than two thirds of the age of the universe. In this talk, Claudia will focus on their most recent results on the evolution of the Lyman alpha luminosity function out to redshift 7, and present implications for the sources of reionizing photons. She will also discuss results in the context of future space based surveys such as Euclid.
