Description

Equipping cold dark matter with long-range interactions is an attractive way of addressing some of the most pressing small-scale problems of the cosmological concordance model. Allowing furthermore a light particle species to be charged under the same interaction, like active or sterile neutrinos, addresses at least three more potential observational concerns. I will review the motivation to consider such models beyond the traditional cold dark matter paradigm, and discuss recent developments.
