After a brief review of some of the empirical correlations between dark and baryonic sectors within galaxies, I will discuss a theory of dark matter superfluidity as a potential explanation of this observations. The idea is to have an emergent long-range interaction between baryons mediated by superfluid phonons. To support this claim on emergent forces, I will demonstrate the effect using an explicit toy model. In particular, I will show that in a theory with a mass-gap, there are emergent long-range interactions upon Bose-Einstein condensation.
