Description

The asymptotic structure of gravity at infinity reveals remarkable features of the theory. Underlying these properties are the asymptotic symmetries. After developing general features of asymptotic symmetries, the talk will focus on the asymptotically flat case. The asymptotic structure of gravity at spatial infinity will be discussed. In particular, how the infinite-dimensional BMS group emerges at spatial infinity will be explained.
