The Grossman-Nir (GN) bound states that the measurements of the branching ratio for charged kaon decay to pion and neutrinos bound the related K_L decay, even in presence of heavy new physics. I will discuss how this relation can be modified if there are light new physics states, and will give several examples that can in principle violate GN bound by orders of magnitude. I will also discuss the implications of possible anomalous events observed by KOTO.
