In this talk I will discuss recent progress in understanding the substructure of jets at the LHC using a particular observable called the energy correlators. I will highlight the rich theoretical structure of these observables, which has enabled their analytic calculation to high perturbative orders, and for multi-point correlators. I will also show measurements of these observables at the LHC, which highlight the near conformal dynamics of QCD on the lightcone directly in data.
