Description

In this seminar I will summarise the latest theoretical results for tt and tt + X, where X= H, gamma, W, Z, j, bb ... at the LHC. I will discuss the latest NNLO and NLO predictions for these processes and show in a few cases their comparisons to experimental data. In the next step, I will also compare full theoretical predictions for tt +X with the results where unstable tops and W gauge bosons are restricted to on-shell states with the goal of determining which effects are important and should be taken into account in experimental studies. The precise predictions for tt and tt + X that I will discuss are essential for precise studies of SM top-quark physics and searches for BSM effects, as well as for measurements of the SM Higgs boson.
