Conference reception
A reception will take place in the evening of Wednesday the 8th, after the end of the discussion on the future of the network (somewhere between 19:30 and 20:00), at the conference venue. Food and drinks will be served.
Social dinner
The social dinner will take place at Unionsbräu Haidhausen in Munich on Thursday the 9th at 8:30 pm. Detailed instructions on how to reach the venue are available here (PDF file)
From Garching
Take the U6 from Garching in direction Klinikum Großhadern. Get off at Odeonsplatz and
follow the signs to U4/U5. Take either U4 in direction Arabellapark or U5 in direction
Neuperlach Süd and get off at Max-Weber-Platz. Walk in the direction the train was going
until the end of the platform and use the stairs at that end, then follow the signs to the exit
marked Einsteinstr.-Seeriederstr. Unionsbräu is right next to the exit.
IMPORTANT: the U6 departs from Garching Forschungszentrum every 20 minutes after
18:50, and the whole subway journey from Garching to Max-Weber-Platz takes 35
minutes. Therefore the latest train you can take to be at the venue on time leaves
Garching-Forschungszentrum at 19:50 and stops in Garching at 19:53. The latest
Garching-bound U6 train on the way back leaves Odeonsplatz at 00:39.
From Munich
If you are staying in one of the recommended hotels, walk to the Universität stop and take
a southbound U3/U6 (going respectively to Fürstenried West or Klinikum Großhadern) and
get off at the next stop, Odeonsplatz. Then follow the instructions above, the whole
subway trip to Max-Weber-Platz takes approximately 10 minutes. You can also easily walk
directly to Odeonsplatz.
