Description
The French QCD community is organised within a Groupement de Recherche (GDR), a CNRS structure with participants from all three French actors of fundamental research: CNRS, CEA and universities. The GDR QCD federates theorists and experimentalists who share a common interest: the study of the strong interaction. Thus, it plays a propelling role in the discussions concerning the future of the field and the next generation of accelerators for which the study of the strong interaction will be one of the main topics.
This document is largely based on considerations discussed in the national strategy exercise, organized by the IN2P3 (CNRS) in 2020. It has been modified and updated based on recent discussions within the GDR QCD and it has been circulated within the full community. It represents a consensus document.
In response to the NuPECC call for community input for the Long Range Plan 2024, the GDR QCD is submitting two contributions: one in hadron physics and one in many-body QCD physics. These two contributions summarise the interests and recommendations of the French QCD community for the next decade.
