Description

The International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility - Demo Oriented NEutron Source (IFMIF-DONES) is a single-sited novel Research Infrastructure for testing, validation, and qualification of the materials to be used in a fusion reactor. the unprecedented neutron flux available could be exploited without modifying the routine op-eration of DONES. In addition, it is also under designed the deflection of 1/100 of the deuteron beam after the whole acceleration, at 40 MeV, to a new experimental hall. One of the applica-tions that can help DONES to be more sustainable is the radioisotope production for medicine. In this manuscript is shown simulations of the production of 99Mo with neutrons and 177Lu with 40 MeV deuteron beams, as first examples. The results show the viability to use DONES for such application.
