Description
The Mainz Energy-recovering Superconducting Accelerator MESA is a low-energy high-intensity electron accelerator for precision experiments with polarized electrons at beam energies below 155 MeV. It will be operated by the Institute of Nuclear Physics, Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz in Germany. A rich experimental program for high-intensity electron scattering experiments is currently prepared for MESA. The physics program will explore the limits of the Standard Model both in terms of strong interaction and in terms of beyond Standard Model physics at two research facilities: MAGIX and P2. They will be complemented by the dedicated beam dump experiment DarkMESA.
