Description
The main advantage of GANIL for interdisciplinary research is the large choice of ions and a wide range of energies (ARIBE, IRRSUD, SME and HE) at one place featuring various unique online experimental devices. Thus linear energy transfer (LET) available at GANIL covers a wide range of electronic to nuclear stopping power ratio. The variety, the versatility and the accessibility of GANIL ion beams open a huge amount of opportunities for different scientific communities. This covers a large range of scientific disciplines, including atomic physics, materials science, solid state physics, radiation chemistry, astrochemistry, geology, nanotechnology, radiobiology, etc. and include research topics from basic research to the use of ion beams for industrial applications. In this document, we summarized some of the developments foreseen in several fields. It is complementary to the contribution for instrumental development for interdisciplinary research at GANILand to the contribution of GSI/MAT.
