Transport

Castle Ringberg lies on top of a hill south of Tegernsee. By car, the travel duration between Munich and Castle Ringberg is between 1 and 1.5 hours.

We would like to organize a carpool to minimize outside infections, however there are difficulties due to the mode of transport needing to be specified in the travel forms before, as well as personal cars being limited to 2 passengers because of infection risks. If your institution allows for flexibility we can connect you for carpooling. You can also offer to take a passenger with you, if you plan to arrive with a personal car. We also encourage the use of “Dienstwägen” if your institutions offer them. There are plenty of parking spots at Castle Ringberg.

If you plan to arrive by train, we recommend going to Tegernsee station. We can then pick you up from there and bring you to the castle. The public transport companies guarantee safety and high air replacement rates in the trains. We still encourage you to social distance in the train.

If you are inclined, there's also the possibility of biking to Castle Ringberg, which should take approximately 5 hours with breaks starting from the center of Munich (according to Google). Mind however, that we can neither take your bike in one of the cars, nor can we guarantee good weather on your ride ;)
