The Excellence Cluster ORIGINS hosts their annual Science Week this year at beautiful Kloster Seeon in Upper Bavaria. 

The 2025's edition, special in many ways, is extended one more night and runs until Friday early afternoon to summarize and celebrate ORIGINS success in view of the renewal.

The agenda will include overview and science highlight talks from our research units, connectors and infrastructures, our annual General Assembly, PhD Awards talks and Laudations, Seed Money posters, as well as talks from invited guests on currently hot topics.

Payment scheme: you’ll have to pay the accommodation and conference fees directly to the hotel before departure (credit card, debit card or cash is possible). With the original bill from Kloster Seeon addressed to your institute of employment, you may claim the money via your institution's usual travel refund procedures. Please note that we will not cover additional costs (such as additional drinks). Any changes or cancellations made after October 1st will incur cancellation fees, which cannot be reimbursed by ORIGINS (except in cases of illness with a medical certificate).

Note: ORIGINS 1 ends on 31.12.2025, and ORIGINS 2 funds (Starting 01.01.2026) cannot be used to pay for travel in 2025 – therefore, ask your employer for an advance using the price and account information given below. Hand in your travel reimbursement AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after the conference, pointing out that third party funding ends 31.12.2025.

Accommodation: 70 single rooms are reserved for participants of the Science Week for Dec 1.- 4. and 57 single rooms on Dec 4.-5.  An overnight stay includes breakfast.

The costs for this are 119,00 € per night.

Conference fee: The conference fee covers general conference expenses (venue costs) as well as the cost of catering (lunch, dinner and coffee breaks). Exceptionally on 04.12, you can book with lunch, or lunch and dinner. If you are leaving the conference before lunch, please do not register your daytime participation on that day.

Kloster Seeon is about an 80-minute drive from Munich/Garching/MUC airport. The closest convenient train station is in Bad Endorf, about a 20 min drive to Seeon. 

A group bus from and to Garching/Munich is organized: it will leave for Seeon  

  •   9:30 am on Monday Dec 01. from the IPP gate/Boltzmannstr. 2 and
  • 10:15 am from Ostbahnhof/Friedenstr./U-Bahn exit.
